Glossmeters

Gloss is an optical property of materials, defined by the percentage of light reflected in the specular reflection, that is the direction normal to the where the light hits the surface, a perfect gloss is akin to a mirror reflection.

Glossmeters are used as a quantitative measurement of gloss, taken by shining a specific intensity of light at a defined angle onto the surface under test, then measuring the intensity of the reflected light at a matching angle. The angle varies depending upon the material and level of gloss to be measured.

Proceq's Zehntner range of Glossmeters support measurement of metal, coating, plastics, paper and foil gloss, in situ or as an inline process monitor. The Zehntner range is also ideal for measuring on or curved samples.

Zehntner ZG8000

Zehntner ZG8000

Zehntner ZG8000 is a lightweight, ultraportable probe with an app connection. The small measurement footprint together with the thin side-profile of the probe make even the tightest spots and the smallest curved surfaces easily accessible.
